A contemporary museum for contemporary art has to find contemporary answers to current challenges. With regard to processing, preservation and presentation, MUARCO is also taking new approaches as part of its task of archiving and storing the collected works of art.
The Eternal Archive of MUARCO is not a high-security wing of an offshore warehouse in a tax haven. Instead of storing the works that cannot currently be exhibited in a warehouse, the works will be released to interested and committed people. If today’s art is part of tomorrow’s culture, it is appropriate for that art to be in the hands of the many.
Anyone interested in art can be a keeper of this art. There are no conditions attached to this. The works of art that are relevant and valuable to society are preserved and passed on.
It is important to all of us that we preserve our culture, dynamic, flexible, eternal.
